The UB Interview: Marvin LáViolette Talks ‘Tales Of the Walking Dead’ + More

Brooklyn born native, Marvin Jonathan LáViolette is a first generation Haitian American who grew up in the city of St. Petersburg just outside of Tampa Bay, Florida.

Upon moving to Atlanta to build his acting resume, he landed his first name role on “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” and from there, the auditions kept coming. Shortly after, he then was offered a role in “Queen of the South,” which was shot in New Orleans along with others. During his journey he quickly began to book commercials, plays (Voodoo Macbeth) and other lead roles.

While in Los Angeles visiting his sister, his agents were sending him out for auditions left and right. He was able to secure some roles in Los Angeles and decided to move forward with his career in California. He then secured a role in “Tales of the Walking Dead” and “Damascus” where he went back and forth from Los Angeles to Atlanta.

Marvin can be seen on “Queen of the South’s” final season on Netflix, the anthology series, “Tales Of the Walking Dead” on AMC & the upcoming “The Color Purple,” expected to be released next year. You also can expect to see him in the highly anticipated Sci-fi Comedy show “Damascus” on AMC in 2023.

While Marvin LáViolette is just touching the tip of the iceberg in his acting career, on his off time he enjoys fitness, yoga, gardening, kayaking, skateboarding, import racing & drifting, outdoor sports, camping, mechanics, & gaming. He is very excited to see where the journey will lead him next.
